A note from the President of
Sister's Celebrating Each Other, Inc. regarding the importance of Christmas to
a child and their mother:
When I was little girl during a time when I lived with my mother we lived in a motel on a very busy street. Right around Christmas time there would always be a parade and afterwards the fire department would give out toys to the kids. That year I remember wanting the game of Operation so bad. It’s all I thought about. I remember praying and telling my mother how I really wanted the game, as a matter of fact, I would tell it to everyone that visited our motel room. God does answer prayers! How is it possible that out of all the toys given out on that day, I would end up getting the game of Operation, wrapped and all; this still amazes me today. I was so happy.

Unfortunately, my happiness
didn't last too long because I remember the kids who did not get a toy and how
that still affects me today as well. To this day and now that I am an adult and
I understand life, feelings and hardships, I often think about what that must
have been like for my mother and the other mothers who witnessed their kids not
get a toy that day. I can’t even begin to imagine how they must have felt to
not be able to provide for their children like they may have wanted to. Every
mother wants to provide for their children, right? I have never forgotten that and
my goal, our goal with Sister’s Celebrating Each Other, Inc. is to do our best in making sure another mother or child does not have an experience like I
witnessed more times than I would like to remember.
Therefore, SCEO is starting early in collecting wrapped and unwrapped Christmas gifts for women and children. If you would like to donate a gift and place a special note of hope, encouragement or faith to the mother or child on your gift, we would encourage you to do so. I think it would make it that much more special. Please email us at info@sceo-anew.org or call us at 1-800-388-2815 if you wish to make a donation. We would be more than happy to come and pick your donation up.
We're starting early because we want to provide an abundance of gifts for the women and children who may not otherwise have anything to open at Christmas. SCEO thanks you in advance!
