A Word from the President:
Getting Sister's Celebrating Each Other, Inc. moving is the right direction has been a challenge to say the least. I had to realize bringing a dream or vision, into a reality is hard, painful work and often times it's a VERY LONELY place. It presents challenges unlike any others you will face and YOU WILL make many mistakes. I have faced difficulty, challenges and so much more, and yes, I have even made some stupid mistakes. Yet in still, I remain steadfast in my belief that the lives of many women and children will be changed as a result of our steadfast endurance through the challenging places.
Since our incorporation in August of 2011, we've had our share of challenges, both corporate side and in my own personal life. We’ve had some volunteers come and we've had them go; we’ve worked from my home, moved into an office and are now relocating to an entirely new city. We've had websites go up, and websites come down, we've changed the website about four different times and we recently just finished another revision.
You may be asking why I have chosen to share this; here's why, many people won't tell you ALL the "He double hockey sticks" they had to go through to arrive at a place of “success” however you classify success. They only want to share the good stuff and leave you with a fairy-tell story of how they made it. There are no fairy-tell stories when bringing forth vision and I wanted to share the not so good stuff for anyone out there trying to give birth to their dream. Not to scare you, but in an attempt to make you aware and prepare you to be triumphant in your endeavor.
I want to encourage you with the truth, in hopes of encouraging you to not give up and to keep going. It may look like things are falling apart and people seem to be leaving the team left and right and many other things may be going wrong; change your perspective, it's not failure, it's called perseverance!!!
There are many lessons to be learned on the journey bringing forth your dream. On the journey to fulfill your vision, your commitment will be tested, you will see areas of weakness you posses, your discipline will be challenged or lack of highlighted; your faith will be heavily tried, your love with be put to the ultimate test, repeatedly, your integrity will be called into question and your faithfulness will be misconstrued as craziness, but don't you dare stop, there is victory on the horizon.
You will, arrive at the appointed place and time for the vision to come to fruition and YES, there will still be work to be done even after so-call “arriving”. In this newly found place, you will find joy and excitement instead of pain and frustration. Sister's Celebrating Each Other, Inc. (SCEO), is at that place today and we want to encourage you and let you know, so will you arrive, if you fail not!
SCEO is relocating to Pittsburg, California. We are planning to relaunch our organization in the Contra Costa County area of Pittsburg, reaching out to other local nonprofits to form a collaborative effort to assist those in need. We will officially begin our operations in January 2014, with many great events following in the year of 2014. We will keep you abreast to our works via all of our social media sites, including our website. You can visit our website at www.sco-anew.org. Follow-us via social media.
